Image: God's Mirror
Good Morning, Friends! Do you have a morning routine? Most people make visiting the “bathroom facilities” a normal part of waking up every morning out of necessity. So, is looking into the mirror a part of that trip to relieve? Some of us, if we are honest might even say while staring at our own visage, “there’s the person who is messing everything up!”
The truth is however, we ALL image something of our Creator God. Every single person ever born throughout history exhibit and “reflect” what theologians call God’s communicable attributes. This means that we bear certain aspects or attributes of God in a limited form. For example God is spirit. Well, we have a spirit. We’re more than just physical beings. Also, God is holy. We can live, by God’s grace, a holy life. Three, God loves and he’s good. And we can love and have goodness toward others. These are but a few examples of the fact that we’re image-bearers of God.
All of this reveals that every human being has dignity and worth no matter his or her status in society! Join us for Worship at Connect Sunday morning February 21st at 11 AM (PST) right here: https://youtu.be/2WCTURKKIj8 . The Sermon is titled “IMAGE: GOD’S MIRROR.”
Made in His Image!
Pastor Eric
We have been made in God’s image.
That’s a strong statement.
The fact that we are made in the image of God means that we are set apart from the creatures and other living things, but it also means we have extra responsibility. Just like children are often seen as a reflection of their parents, we are a reflection of God.
