I Am: Adopted<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Walk in Love<\/p>

5\u00a0<\/strong>Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.\u00a02\u00a0<\/sup>And\u00a0walk in love,\u00a0as Christ loved us and\u00a0gave himself up for us, a\u00a0fragrant\u00a0offering and sacrifice to God.<\/p>

3\u00a0<\/sup>But\u00a0sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness\u00a0must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.\u00a04\u00a0<\/sup>Let there be\u00a0no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking,\u00a0which are out of place, but instead\u00a0let there be thanksgiving.\u00a05\u00a0<\/sup>For you may be sure of this, that\u00a0everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.\u00a06\u00a0<\/sup>Let no one\u00a0deceive you with empty words, for because of these things\u00a0the wrath of God comes upon\u00a0the sons of disobedience.\u00a07\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore\u00a0do not become partners with them;\u00a08\u00a0<\/sup>for\u00a0at one time you were\u00a0darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.\u00a0Walk as children of light\u00a09\u00a0<\/sup>(for\u00a0the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true),\u00a010\u00a0<\/sup>and\u00a0try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.\u00a011\u00a0<\/sup>Take no part in the\u00a0unfruitful\u00a0works of darkness, but instead\u00a0expose them.\u00a012\u00a0<\/sup>For\u00a0it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.\u00a013\u00a0<\/sup>But when\u00a0anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,\u00a014\u00a0<\/sup>for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,<\/p>

\u201cAwake, O sleeper,<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0arise from the dead,<\/p>

and\u00a0Christ will shine on you.\u201d<\/p>

15\u00a0<\/sup>Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,\u00a016\u00a0<\/sup>making the best use of the time, because\u00a0the days are evil.\u00a017\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what\u00a0the will of the Lord is.\u00a018\u00a0<\/sup>And\u00a0do not get drunk with wine, for that is\u00a0debauchery, but\u00a0be filled with the Spirit,\u00a019\u00a0<\/sup>addressing one another in\u00a0psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,\u00a020\u00a0<\/sup>giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father\u00a0in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,\u00a021\u00a0<\/sup>submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.<\/p>Ephesians 5:1-21 ESV<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever seen a kid that has been adopted? Their whole WORLD changes! For the most part it is a very positive change.\u00a0 They have a new hope and new name. But here is a reality you may not be aware of. As a Christian, you\u2019ve been adopted by God the Father, given a new identity, and welcomed into a family with Jesus as your big Brother. You\u2019ve been adopted to worship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This same adoption enables you to not engage in sinful behavior. But as an adopted child you will desire to imitate God, your Father, by walking in love as children of light, discerning what pleases him, making the best use of time, being filled with the Spirit, giving thanks, and submitting to one another.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
