The Resurrection: God's Salvation

In Part 9 of the sermon series Essential Doctrines of the Faith, we look at The Resurrection.

As Christians, we often focus the life and death of Jesus Christ. We try to be more like Jesus (WWJD).  We honor His sacrifice. There’s one very important part of the story that we, as humans, can’t achieve: He defeated death.

This week, we look at The Resurrection.  What are the different views on the resurrection of Christ? What does it mean for us? Tune in to learn more.

Hello Friends!  Let me ask you a question. If someone asked you, “What is the central core . . .  the HEART of the Christian faith?”  . . . How would you respond?  Think about it. . .  If there was one aspect of the faith, that if you were to extract it from the core set of doctrines of Christianity that it would totally undermine the faith… what would it be? My answer is simple, the historical, bodily RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST, because apart from the resurrection of Jesus there is no Christianity.

The historical Christ was many things. Jesus was a great miracle worker, but Christianity is not based upon his miracles, save perhaps this one. Jesus was a great servant: he fed the poor and cared for the marginalized and the weak, but Christianity is not focused or founded on those kinds of acts. THE distinguishing feature of what it means to be Christian is you believe he rose from death, the doctrine of the resurrection. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:17: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.”  Pretty critical, huh?  Join us this Sunday March 28th right here: https://youtu.be/aba376mrN60  to hear more.

NEXT WEEK is Easter Sunday, is which we will observe the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper AND Baptism.  If you have trusted the Lord as your personal Savior and Lord and want to be baptized please contact Pastor Eric ASAP.

Blessings in the name of the risen Christ!
