Hello Friends!
“R-E-S-P-E-C-T, find out what it means to me/ R-E-S-P-E-C-T, take care, TCB, oh.” These are the opening lyrics to the chorus of Aretha Franklin’s 1967 smash hit, “Respect.” One verse starts this way, “What you want?/Baby, I got it/What you need?/Do you know I got it?/All I’m askin’/Is for a little respect when you get home (just a little bit).”
Actually, almost everyone desires respect from those around them. It’s part of what makes a human being, human and God made us that way. This week I am preaching my last sermon from the BOOK OF PROVERBS series in which we have gained so much practical wisdom and insight from above. This week my sermon is titled, “HOW TO EARN THE RESPECT OF OTHERS.” Many times, we think we gain that respect through establishing a certain image based on money, power, intellect and self-branding . . but the reality is true respect is gained by personal character, and not by exhibiting a certain “image.” Come worship with us on Sunday, August 9th on our YouTube page at 11 AM (PST) here: https://youtu.be/jrC4PjzFK2U
to hear more.
Additionally you will be interested to know that the church is taking advantage of our Covid induced self-quarantining and will be installing new carpet in the fellowship hall, cry room and sanctuary.
